An earthquake of 5.1 magnitudes on the Richter Scale hit the Kishwar district in Jammu and Kashmir.
Strong tremors had been felt in the Kishtwar and Udhampur districts of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday.
“Earthquake of magnitude 5.1 occurred and epicenter — 33.29N, 75.52E, close to Kistwar,” based on the National Centre for Seismology (NCS).
No casualties as a result of the earthquake have been reported so far.
The District Magistrate of Doda has urged folks throughout the district to not panic and observe security measures on a priority basis.
“District Magistrate Doda handed on speedy directions to all of the Tehsildars and SHOs to report the damages if any of their respective areas. He also urged all of the folks across the district to not panic and to remain safe and observe all safety measures on precedence foundation,” an official statement stated.
