Florida basketball star Keyontae Johnson collapsed early in the game against rival Florida State and is in critical but secure condition at Tallahassee Memorial, in line with the school.
The Gators were coming out of a timeout Saturday when the cameras reduce away from the courtroom and ESPNU broadcasters stated Johnson had collapsed. He was given emergency medical attention and brought to the locker room.
Earlier than the incident, Johnson had simply completed an alley-oop on a go from Tyree Appleby. He was celebrating with teammates and strolling towards the sideline earlier than he collapsed.

Florida players have been crying and hugging one another through the timeout. Gators coach Mike White put his arms around his players before the sport restarted.
Each team appeared rattled. Florida (3-1) was forward 11-3 after Johnson’s dunk. The Twentieth-ranked Seminoles (3-0) scored the following seven factors en path to an 83-71 victory. After the sport, FSU coach Leonard Hamilton stated he did not have a dialog with White about whether or not the sport ought to proceed after Johnson collapsed.
But he told Florida State administrators he was willing to play if Florida needed to proceed.

Johnson, a junior forward from Norfolk, Virginia, is averaging 19.7 PPG this season and is considered an NBA prospect.
Johnson is known for his versatility and floor leadership and is considered a leading candidate for SEC Participant of the Year. He averaged 14 factors on 54% taking pictures from the floor and 7.1 rebounds as a sophomore.
Like most of his teammates, Johnson tested positive for COVID-19 through the summer. Though the cause of Johnson’s ailment was not immediately identified, the coronavirus can result in myocarditis, a viral infection of the heart muscle.
