Girl on the Train teaser: Parineeti Chopra is bloodied but unbent in the new clip.
Based on Paula Hawkins’ 2015 bestseller, the movie has been directed by Ribhu Dasgupta and in addition stars Aditi Rao Hydari, Kirti Kulhari, and Avinash Tiwary. It follows Meera Chopra (performed by Parineeti) who watches a pair each day by way of the open window of their home whereas touring on the prepare each day to work. The movie was additionally adapted for a Hollywood version with Emily Blunt in the lead, and directed by Tate Taylor. Dasgupta said in a statement: “I always wanted to explore this style and liked this unique story. There may be a lot to relate to each in terms of the feelings and mysteries that I was able to delve into on this thriller – rejection, loneliness, voyeurism, daily commutes on which we see and don’t see things.”
Shibasish Sarkar, group chief executive officer, Reliance Entertainment said: “The Girl On The Train marks our first movie collaboration with Netflix, with many extra to come. We’re very excited about this suspense thriller, Ribhu’s directorial sensibilities, and the extremely talented cast.”
The movie, which was supposed to launch in May 2020 but was postponed due to the coronavirus, will now land on Netflix on February 26.
