Goa: Schools To Reopen For Classes 10, 12 From November 21

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Tuesday said colleges will reopen for Courses 10 and 12 from November 21 onwards with adherence to all COVID-19 security protocols.

Talking to reporters, the chief minister mentioned the state government had taken into confidence all stakeholders earlier than deciding on the resumption of college for Courses 10 and 12.

“Now we have reviewed the state of affairs, and it was a unanimous resolution that from November 21 colleges for requirements 10 and 12 will resume with all SOPs in place,” he mentioned, including that the choice can be communicated to all colleges.

The state schooling division had consulted dad and mom, lecturers and faculty managements have been taken into confidence, it was said.

Earlier, Mr. Sawant mentioned he has requested the state schooling secretary and director of schooling to carry consultations with stakeholders, together with faculty management, parent-teacher associations, and lecturers’ our bodies such because the Goa Headmasters’ Affiliation and Goa Principals’ Discussion board. The choice to reopen colleges can be taken solely after getting approvals from all of the stakeholders and placing vital Customary Working Procedures in place, he mentioned.

Mr. Sawant had held consultations with the stakeholders within the final week of September, and it was then determined that colleges won’t reopen instantly from October 1. As a part of the Unlock 5.0 guidelines, states have been requested to resolve on reopening colleges from October 15. Mr. Sawant mentioned the Goa Government is considering beginning lessons for college kids of Class 10 and Class 12 first, if and when it decides to reopen colleges. Lecturers’ associations opposed the fast reopening of faculties during a gathering with Director of Training Santosh Amonkar, sources said.
