National Education Day: Know why it’s celebrated on November 11

National Education Day is observed to commemorate the

delivery anniversary of independent India’s first education

minister Maulana Abul Kalam Azad.

 

National Education Day is observed on November 11 yearly, since 2008, to commemorate the delivery anniversary of unbiased India’s first education minister Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. He performed a major function in shaping the education system of the nation. Throughout his tenure, the UGC, AICTE, Kharagpur Institute of upper schooling, the University education fee, and the Secondary education fee were set up.

He also contributed to the institution of educational institutes like Jamia Millia Islamia and IIT Kharagpur.

A number of leaders have remembered the contribution of Azad in constructing the muse of a robust education system within the nation.

In a tribute to the first schooling minister of the nation, PM Narendra Modi has mentioned, “Tributes to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad on his Jayanti. His contribution to independence battle and nation constructing shall all the time be remembered.”
