Greene hung a sign dealing with Rep. Marie Newman’s office that says, “There are TWO genders: MALE & FEMALE. ‘Trust The Science.’”
WASHINGTON — Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., placed a sign outdoors her office Wednesday mocking Democratic Rep. Marie Newman, whose workplace sits throughout the corridor, after Newman hung a transgender pride flag next to her door in protest over Greene’s opposition to an LGBTQ rights bill.
Newman, who has a transgender daughter, tweeted a video of herself placing up the flag Wednesday after she stated Greene tried to dam the Equality Act on the Home flooring “as a result of she believes prohibiting discrimination against trans Individuals is ‘disgusting, immoral, and evil.’”
“Thought we’d put up our Transgender flag so she will take a look at it each time she opens her door,” Newman, of Illinois, wrote within the tweet.
In response, Greene tweeted her personal video displaying her placing up a big signal that claims, “There are TWO genders: MALE & FEMALE. “Belief The Science.”

Earlier within the day, Greene tried to dam the laws, which is ready for consideration Thursday, with a movement to adjourn. She tweeted that the transfer was “to provide each Member of Congress time to rethink destroying #WomensRights and #WomensSports and #ReligiousFreedom earlier than voting for the #EqualityAct!”
According to the invoice’s sponsor, Rep. David Cicilline, D-R.I., the invoice would amend current federal civil rights legal guidelines and prohibit “discrimination against members of the LGBTQ neighborhood within the areas of employment, education, credit score, jury service, federal funding, housing, and public lodging.”
After Newman hung the transgender flag and posted her tweet, Greene retweeted a video of Newman talking on the Home flooring in help of the laws earlier within the week, through which she stated, “I’m voting to go the Equality Act for my daughter — the strongest, bravest particular person I do know.”
Greene tweeted, “As mothers, we all love and help our kids. But your organic son does NOT belong in my daughters’ loos, locker rooms, and sports activities groups.”
Later within the day, Greene posted her video displaying her hanging the signal throughout from Newman’s workplace, saying, “Our neighbor, @RepMarieNewman, needs to go the so-called ‘Equality’ Act to destroy women’s rights and religious freedoms. Thought we’d put up ours so she will take a look at it each time she opens her door.”
