The Weeknd, BTS Lead 2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards Winners

Awards season (whole complete year, really) continued on Thursday, May 27, with the return of the iHeartRadio Music Awards. Hosted by Usher (who hopefully wasn’t paid in Ush Bucks), the ceremony aired dwell out of the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles. After last year’s broadcast was canceled because of the pandemic, the music awards show returned with a really 2021 class — for the primary time, there have been six contenders up for TikTok Bop of the Yr, awarded primarily based on fan votes.

Recent off his large wins at the BBMAs, The Weeknd led the iHeartRadio nominees with eight nods, and took house three, including Tune of the Yr and Male Artist of the Yr, for essentially the most awards of the night tied with BTS. He was adopted closely by Megan Thee Stallion and Roddy Rich, who obtained seven nominations every. The present featured a number of performances (in entrance of a real-life, indoor, masked viewers!), including The Weeknd and Ariana Grande’s debut of their “Save Your Tears” remix (and the debut of her wedding ring), Silk Sonic, Dan + Shay, and Doja Cat (featuring aliens). Demi Lovato, Brandi Carlile, and H.E.R. also took the stage with a musical tribute for Elton John, who obtained this year’s iHeartRadio Icon Award. Take a look at the complete checklist of the night’s winners below:
